Building upon its tradition of providing quality healthcare for more than 100 years, the Brockville General Hospital has recently undergone a $32 million dollar expansion. - completed October 2003.

The Brockville General Hospital is a two site hospital organization with a combined total of 141 beds, providing a full spectrum of care; Acute Care (94), Rehabilitation (5), Complex Continuing Care (42) including Palliative Care (5).

Twenty-four (24) acute mental health beds and associated programs are scheduled to become part of the hospital's mandate and service within the next 3-5 years.  Currently Mental Health Programs are delivered by the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group out of their Brockville site (the former Brockville Psychiatric Hospital).  Plans for co-location are being developed.

Diagnostic services include a fully digital Diagnostic Imaging Department with CT, ultrasound, stress testing, holter monitoring, echocardiography, bone densitometry, pulmonary function testing, stroke prevention clinic and Ontario Breast Screening Clinic.

The Brockville General Hospital is conveniently located one hour away from two tertiary care centres in Ottawa and Kingston.

Brockville General Hospital serves a catchment area of approximately 96,000.

The hospital is currently implementing phase two of a full Electronic Medical Record (EMR) utilizing Quadramed software .
