BGH Garden Street Fundraiser is Fun for Charles Street Clients
Brockville—Ellen Coutlee (right), inpatient at Brockville General Hospital (BGH), enjoys a summer
barbeque lunch served up by Personal Support Worker Vaughnette Chatzikiriakos (left) while grandson
Trystyn Aimer supervises. Nine clients at the Charles Street Site signed up for the special treat July
28th.
“We do this every Friday in the summer for the residents at Garden Street Site (GSS) as part of our
Restorative Care and Enhanced Activation programs,” says Sherry Anderson, BGH Director of Complex
Continuing Care, Palliative Care and Rehab. “It is something different and they really enjoy it.
Families attend, too. This is the first time we’ve tried it for clients at Charles Street.”
The barbeque was a fundraiser for the GSS Resident Fund, funds raised to assist providing extras in
activities and entertainment for residents in the BGH long-term care programs at Garden Street Site.
Hosted at the Charles Street site by GSS staff, the fundraiser was a great success with the inpatients
and their families, staff and volunteers—all who enjoyed a fresh summer barbeque in the middle of
their day—while raising over $600.00 for the GSS Resident Fund.
