Friends of Palliative Care Fundraising Tournament Sold Out but Still Growing
Brockville—The 18th Annual Friends of Palliative Care Golf Tournament fundraiser set for August 31st is sold out, but the sponsor
list keeps growing.
“We’re at a total of 170 sponsors, from Platinum to Bronze levels and items for auction, and it’s still growing,” says fundraiser
committee co-chair Dave Publow. “The community support for the event and for our local palliative care service is tremendous.”
The 250 participants will notice some new “firsts” this year, says Publow. For the first time, in addition to the popular annual
silent auction, a live auction will be held at the event—for one of the more exotic items donated to the event: a seven-day
African safari on the Zulu Nyala game reserve.
“We’ll also be the first to enjoy the recent transformation of the Granite Room at the Brockville Country Club,” Publow explains.
“New carpet tile floor, new acoustics, new air conditioning. The Club has done a wonderful job and it will really add to the
enjoyment of the day for everyone.”
While the tournament is sold out, Publow advises anyone interested to call in and put their name on the waiting list. “There are
always last-minute cancellations for any number of reasons.” Interested persons may call the Brockville and District Hospital
Foundation at 613-345-4478.
