BGH Announces New Director of Mental Health Services
Brockville—Brockville General Hospital (BGH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda Peever
to the role of Director of Mental Health Services.
Peever brings twenty years’ experience to the position, including extensive work experience at the
(then) Brockville Psychiatric Hospital (now Brockville Mental Health Centre) and Mental Health
Services of Providence Care in Kingston. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s in
Health Administration, as well as memberships with the College of Nurses of Ontario, the American
College of Healthcare Executives, and the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
“We are fortunate to have someone with Linda’s education, experience and capabilities join BGH,” says
Ray Marshall, BGH President and CEO, “to assist with the transfer of governance and management of
acute mental health, and then assume responsibility for the ongoing operation of the services. Linda
is an experienced leader with tremendous links into all the community mental health providers.”
Peever began as Interim Director of Mental Health Services at BGH in February of this year. Her role was to
coordinate the detailed planning required to ensure a successful transfer of governance and management of the
acute inpatient services, the assertive community treatment team, crisis and outreach services, outpatient
services and the associated support services (ECT and EEG). After posting the permanent position in the spring
and interviewing several candidates, BGH administration chose Linda to continue in a permanent capacity.
“I am very pleased to join the BGH management team,” Peever says. “I look forward to working with the
mental health services staff in continuing to build on the program strengths and history of community
collaboration.”
