Lab Results are in: Foundation Annual Appeal at 98%

Brockville—Big smiles in the BGH Lab! The Brockville and District Hospital Foundation (BDHF) Annual Appeal is at 98% funds raised, in support of Laboratory Services.

The BDHF Annual Appeal is supporting the Brockville General Hospital (BGH) Laboratory Services for 2011, with a goal of raising $135,000 targeted for the lab’s acquisition of Telepathology—a system that uses electronic imaging and information transfer to allow instant transmitting and sharing of digital images of pathology samples or “slides.” Through the ability to share electronically, the system will enable faster second opinion in support of diagnosis for patients, regardless of where they live.

Sharing the good news with BGH Laboratory Services staff is Doris Hallett (holding thermometer), Foundation Board member; Susan Pugh (beside thermometer), BGH Lab Manager; and Dr. Naguib Yassa (back row, second from right), BGH Chief of Pathology.
