Bayshore Girls’ Night Out Raises $5795 for
Palliative Care
Brockville—The Second Annual
Bayshore Girls’ Night Out combined feminine frolics
and fundraising to raise almost $5800 for local
palliative care.
“We had over 150 people attend
this year,” says Anita Fitches, Area Director for
Bayshore Home Health. “It was a great night. For our
second year, we added a fashion show, and did a Wine
Tasting 101—served by Delores Woodley, our Regional
Director.
Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police served
the food.”
Held at CJ’s Banquet Hall in
Brockville last August, the event pampered its
female attendees with manicures, vendors showcasing
women’s retail and services, silent auction and
50/50 draws. All proceeds were directed to support
the Brockville District Hospice Palliative Care
Service (BDHPCS) that operates out of the Brockville
General Hospital.
“Bayshore encourages its
locations to participate in its national fundraiser
to support hospice,” explains Fitches. “Most staff
do the hiking trips in the spring. We wanted to try
something different for the people of our
community—families and their loved ones who need the
great palliative care service.
“Our
community and our clients,” she adds, “have inspired
this event.”
