All Candidates Meeting Health Care Forum Set for September 27th
Leeds/Grenville—Health care service providers across Leeds and Grenville are hosting a special all candidates meeting
September 27th with a focus on health care issues.
“Health care is a major issue in the provincial election October 6th,” says Ray Marshall, President and CEO of
Brockville General Hospital (BGH). “Leeds Grenville health care providers feel it’s valuable to host a discussion
specifically on health care, so our local candidates can respond directly to the public on this important topic prior
to the election.”
The forum will be held at the Brockville Arts Centre, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Candidates representing the Progressive
Conservatives, the Liberals, the NDP and the Green Party for Leeds and Grenville have confirmed their attendance.
Hosting the meeting are BGH, the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, Brockville Mental Health Centre, the Children’s
Mental Health Centre of Leeds and Grenville, County Roads Community Health Centre, Leeds, Grenville and Lanark Health
Unit, Merrickville District Community Health Centre, Community and Primary Health Care Brockville, Sherwood Park Manor,
and St. Lawrence Lodge.
The question and answer format will be structured, with no questions from the floor. Questions will be shared with the
candidates in advance of the event. Anyone interested in submitting a question for consideration should fax it to
613-342-0884 by Friday, September 16th.
