RBC Royal Bank Supports Palliative Care
Brockville—The 17th Annual Palliative
Care Golf Tournament scored a late donation for local palliative care with
the presentation of $3000 from Brockville RBC Royal Bank November 9. The
funds will go to support the Brockville and District Hospice Palliative Care
Service that operates from Brockville General Hospital.
“Once again,” says Dave Publow, Co-Chair of the
tournament with Jim Cooper, “this is indicative of the commitment to the
community by RBC Royal Bank. They have been an outstanding supporter of the
tournament in some form since its inception 17 years ago.”
Presenting the cheque from RBC’s Brockville Main Branch
were Kent Henderson, Financial Planner, and Marlene Geggie, Manager—with the
help of Royal Bank of Canada’s Regional Vice President Michael Adamcryck.
“Most of our donations are local to the branches,” says
Adamcryck. “They are employee-driven as we like to direct funding toward
causes our people care about. However, as one of the largest companies in
Canada, we also have a responsibility to support national causes.
“Kent Henderson approached us about the Palliative Care
service,” Adamcryck continues. “Historically, we have supported the service
as it is becoming more important in the community.”
The 17th Annual Palliative Care Golf
Tournament was held September 1, 2010—raising $135,000 for palliative care
in Brockville and area.
