Kids’
Day Shootout at Sunnidell a success
Shawn
Patterson, 9, wins finals

The 1000 Islands Toyota $1
Million Hole-in-One Shootout, a Brockville & District Hospital Foundation
fundraiser, is now under way at Sunnidell Golf Club.
The first annual Canadian
Tire Brockville Kids’ Day held Sunday, June 14 was a success, with
approximately 60 children taking shots. All funds raised will go to
Brockville General Hospital’s new Cardiovascular Program.
CPGA-qualified golf
instructor Bill Minkhorst taught the children how to use drivers during one
of the free clinics (photo attached).
Shawn Patterson, 9, of
Prescott won the finals; his prize is a new bicycle courtesy of Canadian
Tire Brockville. Many other children also won prizes donated by local
businesses.
Kids’ Day finalists
included Megan Read, Gavin White, Tyler Read, Shawn Patterson, Matt Reimann,
Rob Hannah, Cole Kidd, Max Lowe, Kristen Johnson and Yagiz Tuna.
The main Shootout, open to
adults, teenagers and children, continues until Sunday, June 21 and there
are plenty of prizes still to be won; drop by Sunnidell and help support
Brockville General Hospital. Qualifiers will participate in the finals,
where a hole-in-one would net $1 million for the golfer, plus a $1-million
annuity for the hospital.
