Canadian Tire Rotary Golf Classic Supports Palliative Care
Brockville—Two area Rotary Clubs and the Brockville Canadian Tire recently
presented Brockville and District Hospital Foundation with a cheque for
$8000, designated for the Brockville and District Hospice Palliative Care
Service. The funds were raised through the popular annual Canadian Tire
Rotary Golf Classic held July 7th of this year.
On hand to present the cheques were Rotary Club of Brockville President
Janet Eaton, Rotary Club of the 1000 Islands President Larry Journal, and
Presenting Sponsor Canadian Tire owners Bill and Catherine DePlaedt.
“The Rotary Clubs and Canadian Tire are very pleased to participate in
fundraising to support Palliative Care at Brockville General Hospital for
this community,” says 1000 Islands Rotary President Larry Journal. “We are
happy for the community support given to the golf tournament, allowing us to
give to a worthy cause such as this.”
“We consider this community support an on-going obligation,” adds Brockville
Rotary President Janet Eaton. “This tournament is a long-time event for the
area, and a commitment for us. It helps us support this community—and we
have a lot of fun doing it.”
The Canadian Tire Rotary Golf Classic has raised $223,860 for community
