A Night to Remember: Foundation Gala to Make History Marking History

Brockville: A night of magic, memories and medical technology—marking a milestone in Leeds/Grenville history will make history itself.

On September 25th, the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation will host a Black and White Gala to celebrate a community milestone—125 years of dedicated health care service to Leeds/Grenville by Brockville General Hospital. The Brockville Armouries (itself an historic community institution) will transform into an elegant gathering place for exotic cuisine, socializing, and excellent entertainment.

“This is a definitive moment in our community’s history,” says Marsha Lindsay, Co-Chair with husband Dr. Ardis Lindsay of the Gala Committee. “Our hospital was built from the ground up over the last 125 years and we need to celebrate that achievement as a community. The gala has been a year in the making, and it has been a tremendous project to be a part of.”

The evening will begin with parking at the BGH Charles Street Site with shuttle service to the Armouries courtesy of 1000 Islands Toyota.  Host for the evening is veteran MC Terry Hart. Guests will experience gourmet cuisine stations by Chef Seth O’Hara of Brockberry Café, a silent and live auction, and entertainment by The Aydin Suatac Duo and Route 66. Best of all, this social event of the season isn’t just a party—it’s a fundraiser for the Foundation, with a goal of raising $50,000 to purchase an Isotope Indicator. The Isotope Indicator is a state of the art tool used in the battle against breast cancer to more accurately assess the stage of cancer in a patient, to reduce the surgery and healing required in treatment.

With only 250 tickets available, sales have moved quickly at the two Brockville Scotia Bank locations leaving less than 10 presently available.

“We’re marking history and making history,” says Lindsay, “a special moment for our hospital and our community. And we’re providing for the present and future of our local cancer care at the same time.”

Black and White Gala Co-Chairs Mrs. Marsha and Dr. Ardis Lindsay hold the last 10 tickets available for the milestone event on September 25th.
