Living
in Brockville
Around the world, most people think of the 1000 Islands as a tourist
destination. It is, but those that live here know how much more fun it
is to be here all year long.
During the hot and lazy days of summer, inhabitants and tourists from
around the world come to boat,
fish,
sail, camp, golf (at five local courses and another 35 within one hours
drive!), scuba dive (best fresh water diving in the world), cycle and
hike. Some like to paint and photograph the wild beauty of the river.
In winter, while much quieter, the region is still teaming with
activity. Cross country skiing (downhill within a 2 hour drive),
snowmobiling, hiking, ice fishing, ice boating, hockey or just skating
on the river.
Brockville
is host to countless festivals, events and fun activities. Celtic
Festival, Buskers, Riverfest, Ribfest, Automotion, and 1000 Islands
Poker Run attract overfour
hundred thousand people to the region.
"Part of the charm of the area is that you can live in the country but
work in the city and be all of twenty minutes apart!"
Discover the spell of the mighty St. Lawrence River. Be our guest...you
may never want to leave!
