Brockville General Hospital is committed
to making BGH as “barrier-free” as possible, through:

The continual
improvement of access to facilities, policies, programs, practices and
services for patients and their family members, staff, health care
practitioners, volunteers and members of the community;

The participation of
people with disabilities in the development and review of its annual
accessibility plans;

Ensuring hospital
by-laws and policies are consistent with the principles of accessibility;
and
-
The establishment and
ongoing capability of an Accessibility Task Group.
The aim of this report is to describe
those measures that the Brockville General Hospital has taken over the past
while, and will take during 2007-2008 to identify, remove and prevent
barriers to accessing Brockville General Hospital’s facilities and services,
for patients/residents/clients, staff, physicians, volunteers, visitors and
other members of the community.
This report will:
1. Describe
the process by which the Brockville General Hospital identifies, removes,
and prevents barriers to people with disabilities.
2. Review
the progress Brockville General Hospital has made in removing and preventing
barriers that were previously identified in its facilities, policies,
programs, practices and services.
3. Describe
the measures Brockville General Hospital will take in the coming year to
identify, remove and prevent barriers to people with disabilities.
4. Describe
the ways that Brockville General Hospital will make this accessibility plan
available to the public.
