August 22, 2017 – Brockville General Volunteer Association donates toys to Brockville General Hospital’s Pediatric Community Program.

“Learning through play is a concept used in education and psychology,” shared Ilona Thomas, Speech and Language Therapist with the Hospital’s Pediatric Community Program. “Through play children can learn to make sense of the world around them. They are then able to develop social, communication  and cognitive skills, mature emotionally and gain self-confidence.  These are all invaluable skills as they grow up.”

“Thank you to our generous volunteers for making learning through play possible for children in our community!”

The toys were donated through the Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada.
