Nicholas (Nick) Vlacholias joined Brockville General Hospital as President and Chief Executive Officer in July 2017.  Previously, he served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) leading a team comprised of clinical departments and corporate services.  Nick has more than 20 years of experience transforming and integrating health care organizations into high-performing centres. Prior to joining CHEO in March 2012, Nick served as the Chief Operating Officer at Cornwall Community Hospital where he successfully led the complex merger of the two Cornwall Hospitals.
Nick is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and graduated from the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1990.
Nick has participated as a Director with the Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA), and over the past five years he has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the newly amalgamated Mohawk Medbuy Corporation and its predecessor organization Medbuy Corporation.

Dr. Robert Malone

Dr. Robert (Rob) Malone has worked at Brockville General Hospital as the Chief of Psychiatry and member of the Medical Advisory Committee since 2000.  He was appointed as Chief of Staff in November 2017. During his time at BGH he has proven his commitment to BGH through a variety of hospital initiatives, including his leadership during the successful transfer of acute care psychiatry services from the Brockville Mental Health Hospital to BGH.
Recent project leadership includes Accreditation, a computer physician order entry (CPOE) pilot project, and BGH’s medical credentialing process. During his tenure with BGH, Dr. Malone has provided medical leadership and advice with the South East Local Health Integration Network.

Dr. Malone has shown a commitment to learning and teaching. In addition to leading over 16 presentations and participating in over 21 conferences on Mental Health and healthcare issues, he has received a multitude of awards. Most recently, he received the Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching award from Queen’s Department of Psychiatry in 2016.
He is a highly regarded by fellow staff and physicians, and is an active member of the BGH community. In 2014, he was the keynote speaker at the Hospital’s Annual General Meeting and in 2013 he was nominated by BGH staff for the Workplace Happiness Action Team’s Team Member of the Year award.
Julie Caffin
Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer

Julie joined Brockville General Hospital as Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive in 2017.  Her portfolio includes Professional Practice, Women and Children’s Program, Critical Care Program, Medical Program, Surgical Program, Complex Continuing Care, Rehabilitation, Palliative Care.
Julie has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Carleton University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an Honours Degree from York University and a Master of Health Sciences Degree from the University of Toronto. She received a certificate in Advanced System Leadership from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management Executive Programs. She is an active member of the College of Nurses of Ontario and has an Adjunct Academic appointment in the Queen’s University School of Nursing.
Julie has received recognition awards from Kingston General Hospital.  She was awarded the Team Award for Leadership with the Emergency Department Information System Implementation project and Team Award for Care for her efforts with the Inter-professional Collaborative Practice Model project.
Julie is an active member of BGH’s Community Advisory Council and sits as Chair of the Patient and Family Advisory Council.  She participates in 3SO’s Operations Committee, and is a key member of the regional’s South East Community Care Access Centre and Hospitals Executive Forum. 

Linda Hunter
Vice President, Clinical Services

Linda Hunter joined Brockville General Hospital as Director of Mental Health in 2011.  By 2017 she was appointed to Vice President of Clinical Services.  Her portfolio includes Infection Control, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, Mental Health, Assault and Response Care Centre, Paediatric Community Programs, Quality and Risk.  Linda will also be working closely on supporting our clinical programs during our Redevelopment Project, which will see all services amalgamated to one campus 
Linda holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Ottawa.  She has been an Assistant Professor to the Adjunct academic staff for the School of Nursing at Queen’s University.
Linda has received the Jane Chamberlin Award from the Association of General Hospital Psychiatric Services, in recognition of outstanding contributions to Mental Health Services in the Ontario General Hospital sector.  In 2017, she received a Hospital Donation Champion Award from the Trillium Gift of Life Network.  She has also been nominated for BGH’s Team Member of the Year award three years running, and received Honorary Mention in 2017.
Linda supports many of BGH’s operational and program committees.  She provides leadership to BGH’s Space Planning Committee, Operations Committee, and the Trillium Gift of Life Network working group.  Regionally, she sits as Chair of the Emergency Services Liaison committee.  Linda continues to be an active participant of BGH’s mental health leadership team.
Cameron McLennan
Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Cameron has served Brockville General Hospital’s Human Resources team since 2007 and as Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer since 2013.  His portfolio also includes Central Scheduling, Payroll, Occupational Health & Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Services, Nutrition Services, Laundry/Porter Services, Facilities & Maintenance, Protection Services, Bio-medical Services and Volunteers.     
He holds a Bachelor of Administration from Lakehead University, Business Administration diplomas in Human Resources and Accounting from St. Lawrence College, Queens Executive Certificate in Labour Relations from Queen’s University, is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) through the Human Resources Professional Association, and is currently completing the Advanced System Leadership Program from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management Executive Programs.   
Cameron is an active member of the Ontario Hospital Association’s (OHA) Benefit Plans Advisory Committee (BPAC).  BPAC is a committee of the OHA and acts in an advisory role in relation to the governance and management of provincial wide OHA benefit plans.  Cameron is a past member on the Shared Support Services Southeastern Ontario Board, which oversees shared support services (supply chain) to hospitals within the South East Local Health Integration Network.  He has participated in province-wide OHA central negotiations and Chaired a regional advisory group tasked with analyzing the labour relations impact of system integration.   

Abby McIntyre
Marketing and Communications Specialist

Abby joined Brockville General Hospital as the Marketing and Communications Specialist in 2014, where she leads the marketing, public relations, communications and branding activities. In her role, Abby works closely with the Brockville General Volunteer Association and Brockville and District Hospital Foundation to promote activities and events.
Abby holds a Fine Arts degree from the University of Ottawa.  She is an active member of the Canadian Public Relations Society and the International Association of Business Communicators.
Abby sits as Co-Chair to BGH’s Workplace Happiness Action Team.  She provides communication leadership and recommendations to the Hospital’s internal committees, including the Hospital’s Redevelopment Project.  Abby collaborates regularly on regionally initiatives, including the Southeast Local Health Integration Network/Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Integrated Stroke Care Planning Team, Healthcare Tomorrow and a provincial health literacy working group.  

Patty Dimopoulos
Coordinator, Strategic Initiatives and Governance

Patty joined BGH in 2013 and is currently the Coordinator, Strategic Initiatives and Governance at Brockville General Hospital. Previously, she sat as the Senior Executive Assistant to the President and Chief Executive Officer and Board Coordinator. Patty brings with her over 10 years of executive support and governance experience.  In her role, Patty provides administrative leadership in support of governance best practice for the board, its committees and the executive team. 

A graduate of St. Lawrence College, Patty holds a diploma, with distinction, in Business Administration – Marketing, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®.

In 2017 Patty presented at the Ontario Hospital Association’s Governance Centre of Excellence Conference for Corporate Secretaries, speaking about BGH’s Board in Transition.
