Executive Compensation Program

Brockville General Hospital and its Board of Directors are committed to maintaining a competitive, effective and responsible approach to managing executive compensation. A fair Executive Compensation Program is vital for attracting and retaining the talented, innovative leadership required to ensure high quality care at our hospital.

After an eight year pay freeze, the Ontario government has recently designed a new structure for executive compensation. This applies to a range of public sector organizations, including hospitals, universities, colleges, school boards, and several other public bodies. This framework also explains how the executive salary structures are reviewed, approved and communicated.

BGH continues to support and encourage a fair and balanced approach to all public sector compensation. Our Executive Compensation Program balances the need to manage compensation costs and the need to attract and retain the executive talent we seek. Unlike other institutions, hospitals are open 24 hours a day every day of the year. Our leaders are responsible for the care of our community when they are at their most vulnerable. At BGH, executives included in this program include the President and CEO, Chief of Staff and four Vice Presidents.
